When was the last time you were really desperately looking for someone to help me find a job? I am one of those people, so I decided to write an article about what I have learned over the years to help others out along the same journey. It is very frustrating to find a job, to work in a place that you love but not be able to financially support yourself. Because of my experiences, I have developed skills to help others find the job they are looking for.
My goal is simple; I want you to be able to find a job that you can fall back on whenever the unexpected occurs. I don’t want you to have to spend endless hours online, looking for that perfect posting. Nor do I want you to sit in an office all day looking for someone to help you. That’s just not me.
The first step to finding a job is knowing what kind of job you want. Do you want to work in an office? Are you interested in working in the home? Where are your skills best utilized?
Once you know what position you want, you need someone to help you find it. So many times you see ads for something that sounds perfect, but really you can’t afford it. I recommend using free classified ads or local job sites to see who is hiring. This will give you an idea of where the job openings are at, and who is qualified to fill them.
The next step is to look at your resume, and make sure it is up to date. Make sure it is a clean layout that showcases your talents. I always recommend sending a cover letter along with your resume. This is a chance for you to introduce yourself and ask for an interview. If someone to help me find a job was paying me $1000 to help them find a job, I would be willing to pay for my own interview, because it’s my job. That’s how serious you should be.
I found a job in a local grocery store, and I ended up losing my job after going there for three months without a pay increase.
